Noteworthy "Net" Scores: Five players had a net score under par. Maureen Jenkins had the best net score of the day with a net 33. Bob Ennis, Pat Keane, Billy Martin and Dick Pais scored a net 35.
Closest-to-the-Pin contest: Pat Keane bested Dick Pais by 2 feet for closest to the pin on the 9th green. Pat was just under 10 feet to the pin. This week, the contest will be on the 13th hole.
There is a Local Rule in effect at Merrimack Golf Course that most league players are not familiar with. The USGA created the rule in 2019 and recommends it for most amateur golfers. The rule allows for an option to the Stroke and Distance penalty when a ball is lost or hit out-of-bounds.
